Brief information on study programmes in nursing, radiography and midwifery
The Institute of Health and Care Sciences offers programmes and courses in nursing and healthcare. All educational programmes and standalone courses are taught in Swedish. Below you will find an overview of our educational offerings.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
180 credits • Taught in Swedish
The programme leads to a professional degree in nursing and forms the basis for authorisation to practise as a registered nurse. It also prepares students for further studies at second- and third-cycle levels.
Degree awarded: Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree.
Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Radiology Nursing
180 credits • Taught in Swedish
The programme leads to a professional degree in diagnostic radiology nursing and forms the basis for authorisation to practise as a diagnostic radiology nurse. It also prepares students for further studies at second- and third-cycle levels.
Degree awarded: Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Radiology Nursing and a Bachelor's degree.
Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Nursing
60/75 credits • Taught in Swedish
The programme leads to a Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Nursing with a chosen specialisation. Applicants must be registered nurses with the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare.
The programme also provides the basis for a Degree of Master (60 credits), provided that the degree requirements are met.
Degree awarded: Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Nursing.

Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery Science/
Reproductive and Perinatal health
90 credits • Taught in Swedish
The programme leads to a professional degree in midwifery and forms the basis for authorisation to practise as a midwife. It also leads to a one-year Master's degree in Midwifery Science and prepares students for third-cycle (doctoral) studies.
Degree awarded: Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery Science and a one-year Master's degree in Midwifery Science.
