About Raimund Feifel

Raimund Feifel has been Professor of Experimental Atomic and Molecular Physics and leader of the Low Density Matter Physics research group at the University of Gothenburg since 2013. He received his PhD in Physics from Uppsala University in 2003 and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford. In 2007, he became Associate Professor (Docent) at Uppsala University, where he was appointed Professor of Physics in 2011.

His research focuses on fundamental quantum processes in atoms and molecules, with particular emphasis on electron dynamics and interactions with light. Using advanced experimental techniques and ultrafast light pulses, he investigates electron motion and quantum phenomena on extremely short timescales.

Raimund Feifel has extensive experience in leading and coordinating large research collaborations. He is currently leading a research project funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, bringing together researchers from five Swedish universities to investigate quantum electronic processes on the attosecond timescale. He is the scientific leader behind the Swedish Excellence Cluster "Mastering Light - An Innovation Engine for Science and Technology", where he drives the development of the cluster`s scientific vision and research agenda.
