Violence in sport: From tracking to action (VISTA)
Short description
VISTA is a European research project that aims to strengthen efforts to prevent and address gender-based violence in organised sport. By generating new knowledge, working closely with key stakeholders across the sports sector, and developing practical tools, the project seeks to create safer and more inclusive sporting environments for everyone.
About the research
VISTA works to make organised sport in Europe safer and more inclusive by addressing gender-based violence. Although many sport organisations are strengthening safeguarding, violence and harassment remain under-reported and difficult to prevent without reliable evidence.
The project will gather new EU-wide knowledge through a survey, interviews, case studies, photovoice, and expert workshops. It will listen to the experiences of those affected and work with athletes, coaches, sport organisations, and policymakers to develop practical tools for prevention and support.
VISTA aims to strengthen safeguarding, improve policies, and help create sport environments where everyone can participate safely and with dignity.
