Short description

UPPRÄTT is a project where several cohorts/study groups of forensic psychiatric investigees, convicted perpetrators of violent and sexual crimes, and youths placed in institutional care, are followed-up focusing on occurrence of criminality as well as on mental health and care consumption. The aim of this project is to describe the development of aggressive antisocial behaviour and mental disorders during periods from 3-5 years up to 10-15 years, and in some cases even about 20 years, and to identify (treatable) predictors of negative outcomes. Follow-up data has been presented for several of these groups, while studies still are conducted among for example perpetrators of sexual crimes and women who have used aggravated violence or committed homicide.
