Short description

The area brings together research in statistical theory, methodology, and modern data analysis. The area covers both mathematical and applied work, with an emphasis on understanding data through structured statistical models and well-founded inference methods. A central theme is data for which dependence and structure are essential features of the problem. This includes spatial, temporal, and network data, and leads to statistical models and inference methods that are constrained and informed by the underlying mathematical structure.
