IMAGINE Global – Improving Maternal and Newborn Care
Short description
IIMAGINE Global is an international research project exploring women’s experiences of care during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. The aim is to identify strengths, shortcomings and inequalities in care and to generate knowledge that can help improve the quality of care for women and newborns.
IMAGINE Global is an international research collaboration focusing on the quality of care during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. By exploring women’s own experiences, the project aims to identify areas where care is working well and where improvements are needed.
The research draws, among other sources, on the World Health Organization’s standards for quality care for women and newborns. It addresses issues including quality of care, respectful care, equity and women’s well-being and mental health.
The Swedish part of IMAGINE Global is jointly led by three principal investigators: Karolina Lindén and Helen Elden at the University of Gothenburg and Mehreen Zaigham at Lund University.
