Major VR-Grants In Clinical Therapy Research

Two projects at The Wallenberg Centre for Molecular and Translational Medicine (WCMTM) receive funding from the Swedish Research Council for clinical therapy research. The studies receiving support should have a clear connection to the needs of healthcare and demonstrate patient and societal benefits within five years after the end of the projects.

Anders Rosengren receives nearly SEK 19 million during the period 2024-2027 for his research on type 2 diabetes and the evaluation of long-term preventive measures through lifestyle changes. Anders is a professor of physiology at the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology.

Helena Filipsson Nyström receives SEK 12 million during the period 2024-2027 for her project investigating the effects of increased intake of iodine and selenium during pregnancy in relation to fetal brain development. Helena is an associate professor in endocrinology, a professor at the Department of Medicine, and a university hospital physician at the Department of Specialist Medicine, Endocrine Section, Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

Both Anders and Helena are part of the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular and Translational Medicine (WCMTM).
