Gothenburg Through the Ages: The Film Festival's Highlight

The Gothenburg Film Festival once again hosted the cherished and annual feature 'Gothenburg Eras,' an event that attracts a large audience year after year. This year's event, held on February 3, 2024, at Draken in Gothenburg, was no exception and attracted an enthusiastic crowd of visitors, ready to immerse themselves in the city's rich history through film.

The audience was presented with a variety of exciting films that offered a unique glimpse into the city's past. Highlights included footage of military parades and air raid drills from the 1930s and 40s, as well as insights into the modernization efforts at Sahlgrenska Hospital during the same period.

The event was made possible through collaboration between GPS400 at the University of Gothenburg, the Swedish National Archives in Gothenburg, and the Gothenburg Medical History Museum. The center's director Mats Jönsson, chief archivist Karl-Magnus Johansson, and museum director Lisa Sputnes Mouwitz introduced and contextualized the screenings.
