Open House 2026
During the Open House on 27 November, we invite all those who are curious about what we do, and what it’s like to study at HDK-Valand! You are welcome to visit us on Vasagatan and Kristinelundsgatan in Gothenburg, or to participate in the English, digital events.
Welcome to meet our teachers, students and programme supervisors who will tell you all about our international BFA and MFA programmes. On our Open House you can also go on guided tours, visit our students in their open studios and talk to our guidance counselor.
Three of our BFA programmes are taught in English; Metal art, Wood Oriented Furniture Design and Crafting Futures. Teachers and students from these programs, which are located at Campus Steneby in Dals Långed, will come the Open House in Gothenburg and tell you about the programmes and their study environment.

Guided tours and student counselling
Tours
Throughout the day, there will be guided tours where our students will show you around the building. If you are part of a larger group, or if you have any special interests, please book the tour in advance. Email your requests to: public@hdk-valand.gu.se. The tours are given in both Swedish and English and takes about 30-45 minutes.
Information about studying and admission
In addition to the teaching staff, many members of our support services will be available to answer questions about admissions, exchange studies, the support available for academic studies, and more. Feel free to talk to one of our administrators or academic advisors.
Open workshops
For those of you who are curious about our workshops, they are open and most of our valued and knowledgeable technicians are on hand to show you around the equipment and machinery. You can also check out the students' different study environments and browse books in our outstanding artlibrary.
