My research concerns the cognitive dimension of transdisciplinary research, and how concepts function as boundary objects facilitating changes in understanding between disciplines. I investigate how meaning is transmitted and changed in articles in transdisciplinary journals.
I have two journals as central objects of study. One is The Lancet: Planetary Health. This journal accepts contributions that deal with research concerning the interconnectedness of environment and health on a global scale. The other is The Anthropcene Review, which accepts articles that from any disciplinary perspective explore the proposed new geological age of human influence on Earth's system. Besides these two I also study various other journal like Ecological Economics, Ambio, and Environmental Science and Policy.
