Jesper Lundgren new Head of Department at the Academy of Music and Drama
Jesper Lundgren is a psychologist and associate professor with extensive experience in research and higher education with a focus on personality psychology, health psychology and ethical issues. He has previously been Head of the Department of Psychology and will take up his new position on 12 August 2023.
"With Jesper Lundgren and the team around him, the Academy of Music and Drama will be able to continue to develop from the foundation Petra Frank has built under her leadership. I personally look forward to working with him as the department's representative in the development of the Artistic Faculty in general," says Henric Benesch, Dean of the the Artistic Faculty.
Jesper Lundgren's experience of leadership in higher education and his ability to lead in change and work in teams will play an important role in his mission to lead the Academy of Music and Drama. The biggest change the department faces in the coming years is the move to Konstnärliga, where the entire Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts will be gathered in 2027.
"I am really looking forward to becoming part of the Academy of Music and Drama and to work to strengthen an already very impressive institution, together with all the fantastic employees and students here," says Jesper Lundgren.
He will take up his position on 12 August 2023, replacing Head of Department Petra Frank. At the same time, Jonas Simonson, professor in musical performance and interpretation, will be appointed new Deputy Head of Department. He replaces Anders Hultqvist.
