Practical Philosophy

Within Practical Philosophy, work is carried out on applied ethics and political philosophy, ethics, metaethics, philosophy of health, and philosophical anthropology. Particular concentrations include bioethics and the ethics of business and finance, theories of morality, rationality and responsibility, and philosophy of health.

Theoretical Philosophy

Theoretical Philosophy includes work on epistemology, philosophy of language, metaphysics, phenomenology and the philosophy of cognition and mind. Special concentrations are formal semanticspragmatics, and the philosophy of neurology and psychiatry.

Logic

In Logic, model-theoretical semantics, quantification and mathematical logic are in focus.

Linguistics and language technology

In Linguistics there is an emphasis on spoken language and dialogue studies in all the four sub-areas. A general focus is formal semantics and the semantics and pragmatics of dialogue, linked to the work on dialogue systems within language technology.

Theory of Science

Theory of Science includes Citizen Science, controversy studies and science and policy studies, with a developed research program regarding expertise in medicine and health policy.
