Development Economics
Development economics studies the forces that contribute to economic development in less developed countries.
At the Department of Economics, research in this area covers aid and development, education and learning, health, political economy and institutions, poverty, and the performance of firms and farms. The research often draws on behavioural economics, experimental economics and applied microeconomics, and is connected to national and international development research networks.
This research area is one of several partly overlapping areas of expertise at the Department of Economics. Many researchers are active in more than one area.
