About Amanda Ramsälv

 

Amanda Ramsälv (PhD) is an associate researcher and lecturer at JMG. Ramsälv holds a BA degree in practical Philosophy and a master´s degree in Media and Communication studies (including master level practical Philosophy focusing on democracy), both from University of Gothenburg. In addition, she holds a journalist education from University of Lund. Ramsälv has experience from working as a freelance journalist focusing on issues of journalism and democracy. Her dissertation is an ethnographic newsroom study titled: "Digital news as social production of knowledge(s). 

Research area

  • Ethnographic newsroom research – the societal function of journalism as producer of knowledge

 

Teaching

Amanda teaches courses in media and communication as well as the journalism program.
