Admissions Tests
(The following refers to students entering the programme in autumn 2022.)
Test 1
For Test 1, you choose your first aria from your repertoire list. You will record a video where you perform the song. The video must maintain good audio and video quality. The video must not be larger than 500Mb and must be delivered in one of the following formats: .m4v, .mov, .mp4, .wmv, .flv, .asf, .mpeg, .mpg, .mkv. Submit the video via Slideroom, deadline not yet announced. After step 1, the first selection takes place. Announcement regarding whether you have passed to Test 2 or not is sent to you via email during calendar week 6.
Test 2. Only for those applicants selected to advance to Test 2
Test 2 begins with a movement test conducted in a group. There will be no opportunity to rehearse for this exercise. Wear clothing appropriate for movement. Changing rooms will be available. Thereafter, you will be asked to present your prepared dramatic aria from the list. You will be provided with aids in the form of simple props or a counterpart for your dramatic aria if you so request.
Test 3. Only for those applicants selected to advance to Test 3
The Test 3 day begins with dramatic improvisation in group format. There will be no opportunity to rehearse for this exercise. Wear clothing appropriate for movement. Changing rooms will be available.
In the last phase of the test, you will be asked to sing an aria chosen by the jury from the list of six you have provided. You will be notified which one you will be asked to sing one day in advance – at the same time as the announcement is made of which applicants have been selected to advance to Test 3. For this final singing test, the jury will select one additional aria from your list of six.
