Short description

This project aims to identify and promote solutions for an accelerated climate transition of leisure travel, which also supports societal resilience. By extension, these solutions need to contribute to reducing car dependence and unstrain the transport system, but also enable meaningful and socially including free-time activities for children and youth.

The project is implemented in collaboration with municipal and regional planners, sports clubs and sports associations. In a first step we map vulnerabilities, conflicting objects and possible planning solutions – then we carry out case studies of existing solutions and conditions with sports associations for a sustainable transport transition. The results are put to use in meetings and collaboration with actors and in the production of knowledge material for practitioners. The results also contribute to research on sustainable mobility and leisure, an under researched field compared to, for instance, the commute.
