New funding opportunities for journals, conferences and research networks

The Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research is once again inviting applications for funding for networks, conferences and journals in the Nordic region. Keep an eye out for the Nordic Gender Fund – which will reopen for applications on 1 October 2026.

The Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research at the University of Gothenburg contributes research-based knowledge on conditions for a free knowledge society, a fair working life and an equal Nordic region. Commissioned by the Swedish Government and the Nordic Council of Ministers, among others, the Secretariat's activities often involve collaboration with researchers and other stakeholders at national, Nordic and international levels. The task includes support for a broad field of research on gender and other power structures. As part of this work, in 2024 the Secretariat established a Nordic Gender Fund within the area of activity ‘A Free Knowledge Society’, with a call for applications once a year.

The aim of the fund is to strengthen the infrastructure for knowledge produced within a broad field of critical studies of power. This may include research on norms, beliefs and structures that reproduce and maintain inequalities based on, for example, gender, race/ethnicity, sexuality, class and age.

This autumn’s call for applications opens on 1 October and close on 5 November at 15:00 CET. All information will be published on an ongoing basis on the Secretariat’s website about the fund (see related content below), Facebook and LinkedIn, as well as via the Genuslistan mailing list.
