About Mikael Granlund

Mikael Granlund is a licensed psychologist and has been working since 2021 at the psychiatric clinic at Skaraborg Hospital in Lidköping.

Research Interests

Mikael’s research focuses on cognitive function in adult psychiatric patients, with a particular interest in intellectual disability (ID) and borderline intellectual functioning (BIF). His doctoral project aims to standardise and validate a short digital test to enable screening for ID and BIF. Using this test, the study investigates prevalence, comorbidity, and the connection to coercive measures in psychiatric care. The goal is to increase understanding of how intellectual impairments affect psychiatric treatment outcomes and to improve diagnostics and care efforts for this patient group.
