It’s a Gothenburg Thing!

Culture and languages

Gothenburg has a long history of developing and welcoming underground music by creating spaces and grassroots venues for different audiences and musical genres. Sonic communities have made temporary spaces, re-used buildings, occupied basements and other in-between venues. From Draupner to Lucky People Center, Funkhouse to Locus Sound System, join us for a day-long programme of events exploring Gothenburg's historic underground venues, club nights and sound systems.

Programme


13.00hrs: Aural History Walk
A guided walk through some of Gothenburg’s seminal music venues and club nights since the 90’s. The walk will be an opportunity to listen to key figures of the scene and hear music played at the time.

The walk starts outside the main entrance of HDK-Valand at Kristinelundsgatan 6-8

16.30hrs: Club Stories
An open mic session to share club and sonic stories.
Venue: Göteborgs Litteraturhus, Heurlins Plats 1

20.00hrs till late: Dungeon Acid & DJ’s
Live performance by the legendary Dungeon Acid and DJ sets by Gavana & Aimnbreak, DJ Struck, Eric Magassa and other special guests.
Venue: Bubblan, Fiskhamnsgatan 41b 

Cost
The day programme is free to attend. For a small fee, tickets for the evening session at Bubblan are available via Billetto.
