Nikolay Marinov is a Senior Lecturer in Political Science at the University of Gothenburg, with prior appointments at the University of Houston, the University of Mannheim, and Yale University. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University.
Marinov’s research explores international influences on democracy, electoral interventions, sanctions, and political communication. His work has been published in the American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Comparative Political Studies, British Journal of Political Science among others. He is also co-author of the book Rules and Allies: Foreign Election Interventions (Cambridge University Press).
Marinov has experience with experimental and computational methods, and has contributed to public debates on democracy through both scholarship and civic engagement.
