I am interested in how people experience and make sense of the environments around them, and in the fit between people (and groups) and their everyday surroundings. My specific passion is understanding how everyday environments can support children and young people’s lives, opportunities and ability to take part in society.
My research is rooted in environmental psychology and draws on my background in urban planning and landscape architecture. I study how places, outdoor environments, routes, and transport systems are experienced and used in everyday life. I am especially interested in how everyday environments can support wellbeing, agency, social connection, and sustainable everyday choices.
More recently, I have also started a new project exploring the role of parcel lockers in everyday life in Gothenburg. Here, I am interested in how new forms of delivery infrastructure become part of everyday environments and routines, and what this means for how we plan and design our cities.
