About Jonas Ambjörnsson
My overarching goal is to investigate the mechanisms and consequences of respiratory mucus and develop new strategies for prevention of airway obstruction and inflammation.
Using 3D models of differentiated airway epithelium, I aim to leverage the network properties of miRNA regulation to uncover sensitive regulatory nodes that control pathological mucus production in goblet cells. I also aim to define immune regulatory properties of key mucus components and identify molecular determinants that sustain mucus hypersecretion in goblet cells.
