About the education
NEK310, Data analyticis for Economics and Finance, 7,5 credits
This course covers methods for generating data sets for further analysis by merging and processing data from several "big data" data sources, analysis of data quality, data visualization and machine learning methods.
These methods are implemented using an appropriate software package. The course is to a large extent based on computer-based project work.

This course is based on students’ previous knowledge of macroeconomics and financial markets. The course begins with the conventional models of exchange rate determination and how to manage currency investments. Then it introduces the knowledge of national income accounting in an open economy framework and the history of the international monetary system. The course also discusses possible outcomes of conventional policy tools on the economy and the financial market.

Admission to the course requires at least 105 credits, of which at least 45 credits must be in Financial Economics.
