LARRI - Land Rights Research Initiative

The Land Rights Research Initiative (LARRI) is an initiative hosted by the Unit of Human Geography, Department of Economy and Society at University of Gothenburg. The initiative was launched 2012 and is meant as a platform for discussion, exchange of ideas and information as well as for promoting collaboration among researchers, students and other actors interested in land rights issues from a poverty and development perspective in a context of global change.

Larri webinars 2025

We are planning two LARRI Webinars during the Spring discussing current trends in land rights research. These will be from 13-15 (CET) on 26th March and 14th May. Please save these dates now and we will send out invitations with detailed information about a month before each webinar.

We will use the 2025 LARRI webinars to reflect on these impressions of the state of the art in land rights research. For the first webinar on the Wednesday 26th March from 13:00 to 15:00 (CET), we will invite leading land rights researchers to offer their perspectives. Their remit will not be limited to particular regions, but they will be able to draw on experiences from Africa, Asia and Latin America. The second webinar on 14th May will focus more specifically on recent developments in the relationship between climate change mitigation and land rights.

We look forward to informative presentations and interesting discussion,

LARRI Steering Group:
