Stef Bokhorst is assistant professor Department of Ecological Science Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He is an ecologist with a fascination for polar regions, extreme events and plant soil interactions  and has decades of experience with summer and winter field campaigns in the Arctic and Antarctic.
