About Martin Amnell

Martin has been a PhD candidate in Public Law since 2026 and a Lecturer in Public Law since 2021.

He obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of Gothenburg in 2017. Between 2017 and 2021, he worked at, among other institutions, the Administrative Court of Appeal in Gothenburg, the District Court of Gothenburg, the Administrative Court in Gothenburg, and the Swedish Government Offices. In 2021, he was appointed Lecturer in Public Law at the Department of Law, University of Gothenburg.

Martin has particular expertise and experience in Procedural Law, Family Law, and Social security Law. His primary research interests include Constitutional Law, Public Access to Official Documents, Administrative Law, Social Law, and administrative procedure. He also has experience in Data protection Law (GDPR), Discrimination Law, and Insolvency Law.

In 2022, Martin was awarded the pedagogical prize Paragrafen by the Gothenburg Law Students’ Association.

 

The working title of Martin’s doctoral thesis is The Limits of Legal Representation. The project examines the boundaries of legal representation. It also analyses how the regulatory framework relates to requirements under international conventions, highlights how other jurisdictions address similar issues, and explores the boundary between Private Law and Public Law in matters concerning legal representation.
