About Marie-Caroline Göthfelt Peris

Marie-Caroline is a lecturer in design at HDK-Valand-Academy of Art and Design. She meets students both at BA and MA level. She holds courses and workshops, gives lectures, tutors students. Marie-Caroline has a background in architecture and child culture design, with an interest in the child's perspectives and the co-design process in the private and public space. The body and its multi-sensory experience in relation to space is the primary focus of her work. She uses picture book, workshop and exhibition formats in conjunction with illustration, storytelling and craft to experiment and materialise her work and artistic practice.

She has an interest in architecture and art history. Within the design program she teaches a lot sketching and technical drawing both as methods and tools in relation to the design process. She works as well with storytelling using illustration and handcrafts (wood and fiber) to convey her message. She is a portraitist and a passionate knitter.

During the academic year 2025-2026, Marie-Caroline will be involved in both the BA and Design Studies MA programs and in the freestanding courses Practical Introduction to Design and EAT.
