Research interests. I am interested in how different forms of violence and victimization co-occur in adolescence, and specifically how experiences of polyvictimization (i.e., exposure to multiple types of victimization) may shape young people’s developmental trajectories. I am particularly interested in understanding the external resources available to young people with these experiences, and the role such resources may play in their mental health, including both ill health and well-being. I use both quantitative and qualitative approaches in my work.
Ongoing research. I’m a Ph.D. Student in the project: Polyvictimization from Age 10 to 19. A Cohort-Sequential Longitudinal Study Focusing on both Negative and Positive Developmental Trajectories. This project aims to advance understanding of how children exposed to polyvictimization develop differently over time. It examines patterns of victimization together with the risk and protective factors that help explain why polyvictimization has such severe consequences for affected youth.
