About Anne Hsu Nilsson
I joined the Unit for Academic Language (ASK) in 2017 as a Language Advisor, and I work with the development of students’ academic language and writing skills in English. I offer lectures and workshops in collaboration with courses and the university libraries, primarily for students studying science and medicine, as well as individual advising sessions for all students at the University.
I am currently involved in two internal projects (estimated duration 2023-2025): English Activities Project and Online Grammar Guide Project. The latter includes conducting a survey on student’s use of generative AI.
My other responsibilities at ASK include supporting the unit’s staff use of digital tools and coordinating the development of unit’s two IT systems. During 2020-2024, I severed as the unit’s IT-representative (IT-beredare).
Relevant work experience
Before joining ASK, I worked as a peer tutor at the Chalmers Writing Centre and studied pedagogy. Prior to moving to Sweden, I was a lecturer in academic writing (2006-2012) at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (formerly National Chiao Tung University) in Taiwan, where I also served as the Director of International Admissions (2009-2010). My professional work experience also includes working in administration in different branches, translating/interpreting between English and Chinese and copy-editing journal manuscripts.
