Research on Arts Education

The doctoral education aims at providing a comprehensive scientific education that also provides a good preparation for such tasks in society where knowledge of aesthetic forms of expression with a focus on educational science is of value.

The doctoral education in Research on Arts Education aims to provide a comprehensive scientific education that also provides a good preparation for such tasks in society where knowledge of aesthetic forms of expression with a focus on educational science is of value. The research topic focuses on the relationship between practice in media-specific subject areas such as visual arts, music, sloyd, dance, drama, theatre, etc. as well as media-neutral aesthetic activities and teachers and students' teaching and learning within these areas of knowledge in the Swedish primary and secondary schools as well as in upper secondary school (gymnasium). The research topic is designed to explore the teaching profession's didactics in aesthetic forms of expression.

At the 2023 call for proposals, applicants with funding for salary from their school principal are welcome to apply.
Please note that certificate from employer in such cases must be attached.  The studies are mainly held in Swedish.
