Advergame playing behavior and Mobile augmented reality

Seminarium

Gothenburg Research Institute welcomes you to the first lunch seminar of 2020. At the seminar Elin Nilsson from Umeå University School of Business will present two ongoing research projects: "Advergame playing behavior" and "Mobile augmented reality".

Elin disputed 2016 with the thesis "Where to shop - understanding consumers choice of grocery stores" where the focus was on how consumers choose stores and how different situations affect their choices. The dissertation was awarded by the Kellerhals Foundation with the international award Retail Award for best dissertation. After the dissertation, Elin received a post-doc scholarship from the Swedish Trade Council for her research project on consumers 'attitudes to digital interaction (such as Gamification, SST, AR, Advergaming etc.) and how this affects consumers' purchasing behavior. Elin has been an invited guest researcher at Queensland University of Technology (Dec 2019), University of South Australia (Dec 2018 - Feb 2019) and at Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania (March - May 2013). Together with eXpression Umeå, she has started the Future Retail Lab program, which is funded by the Swedish Trade Merchants Association. The project contributes to the trade change and adaptation to digital markets where the store becomes the hub of a market that extends beyond the traditional local marketplace.

The seminar is a organized together with Center for Retailing.
