Seyed N. Mousavian

Om Seyed N. Mousavian

N. Seyed Mousavian PhD, University of Alberta, Canada Research Fellow in Representation and Reality, Department of Philosophy Specialization: Philosophy of Language, Metaphysics, and Medieval Arabic Philosophy

My PhD thesis, titled "Empty Names and Neo-Russellianism", falls on the borderline of contemporary philosophy of language and metaphysics. My research in philosophy of language is focused on theories of reference and proper names. I am also interested in the metaphysics of modality, theories of identity and meta-ontology. I develop similar interests in medieval Arabic philosophy, particularly in Avicenna and Suhrawardi.
