Forskning

My research deals with the descriptive, comparative and diachronic study of Bantu languages. I am particularly interested in the verbal systems of these languages. I have worked extensively on tense and aspect in the Kikongo Language Cluster, a group of closely related languages spoken in Central Africa along the Atlantic Coast from Gabon to Angola, and on valency-decreasing verb alternations in Bantu. Currently I am working as a post-doctoral researcher on the project To break or be broken — A study of valency-decreasing alternations in East Ruvu Bantu languages.
