Om Nathalie S. Fari
Nathalie S. Fari (b. 1975 in São Paulo) works across the fields of performative arts, artistic research and somatic education. She holds a degree in Art Education from the Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado University in São Paulo (98) and a Master of Arts in Space Strategies - Exploratory Art in Public Contexts from the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin (08). Additionally, she has completed trainings in acting and physical theatre at the TUCA theatre school of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo and at Centro de Pesquisa Teatral Institute under the direction of Antunes Filho.
The main focus of her research lies in exploring site-oriented performance laboratories through an embodied, post-human and documentary approach. She is the founder of the Body Mapping Lab (since 2013) where she designs and coordinates collaborative educational programs in site-specific performance and embodied research. She is a member of the artistic research group of the Nordic Summer University (since 2016) and the Embodied Research Working Group of the International Federation of Theatre Research (since 2017). Currently, she is a PhD candidate at the Academy of Music and Drama, where she is also developing a new course syllabus in Performance Documentation. See links:
