Om Marion Dupoux

I am a postdoctoral researcher working with the BECC center (for Biodiversity and Ecosystem services in a Changing Climate) and the FRAM center (for Future chemical Risk Assessment and Management strategies).

My main research interests lie in environmental economics and experimental economics.

During my Ph.D., I mainly worked on the concept of substitutability between private and public (environmental) goods and how it affects contributions to the public good, willingness-to-pay for improved environmental quality and discount rates. I also dealt with more applied topics such as land use change (LUC) and how the choice of temporal distributions of LUC impacts affects cost-benefit analysis outcomes.

I am currently working on a project with BECC for which I received a research grant in November 2017 for the 2018-2020 period which deals with the analysis of stakeholders' behavior towards ecosystem services provided by the agricultural sector and the forest. This project mainly relies on experimental methods and deals with the social dilemma that environmental public goods pose and the acceptability of policy instruments that correct for environmental externalities.

I am also involved in a project with FRAM in which we evaluate the willingness to pay of chemical producers for safer chemicals.

I also work on interdisciplinary projects within both BECC and FRAM, one of which is about the controversies around glyphosate, the active component of herbicides.
