Bakgrund
Researcher and teacher in English Literature. My PhD thesis, Reconfiguring the Hero’s Journey: The Monomyth in Contemporary Popular Culture investigated the continued relevance of Joseph Campbell’s theoretical concept of the Monomyth, or ‘Hero’s Journey,’ and the ways in which this pattern has continued to informand augment literary and pop-cultural texts and narratives. The project took the form of a portfolio of articles, designed to encompass and utilise a variety of texts, forms and critical approaches, the better to reflect not only the diversity of popular cultureas a whole, but also the pervasive and encompassing nature of the Monomyth itself. Since the successful completion of my PhD I am working to expand upon several of the themes and findings of this project
