I am a PhD Candidate in Political Science at the University of Gothenburg since the fall of 2019. My research explores polarization over feminism, backlash against feminism and populist radical right support in Europe. I am particularly interested in conservatives' counter-reaction to feminist mobilizations and advances in gender equality. Who is most likely to counter-react and how this is manifested politically through vote choice? What triggers such backlash against feminism? Which aspects of feminism or gender equality provoke backlash?
In my dissertation, I combine observational survey data analysis on the case of Sweden, a survey experiment and cross-sectional survey data analysis on all European Union countries, as well as an interview study on the case of Germany.
I hold a MSc in Economic Development from Lund University, and a BA in European Studies from Maastricht University.
