Om Carl Holmberg

Carl Holmberg is a university lecturer at the Department of Historical Studies, University of Gothenburg. His PhD-thesis (1998) deals with civilization criticism in the 1970s in Sweden. Another book, with a similar topic, about the symbolic meaning of nature, was finished in 2006. Holmberg has also written articles about Swedish clerical opinions during the Spanish civil war, German composer Richard Wagner, and Swedish author Stig Dagerman. Furthermore, Holmberg is involved in an archaeological-historical project which highlights scientific encounters in Danish mesolithic archaeology.

Holmberg gives lectures on various fields within the historical discipline. A recently introduced course focuses on how history could be used in coping with collective traumas or a problematic past.
