Alan Tennant has a back ground in social science and epidemiology and is since many years Professor of Rehabilitation Studies and head of The Psychometric Laboratory for Health Sciences based in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Leeds has had a long track record of training and research in modern psychometric techniques. Students attend its workshops from all continents, and its staff has collaborative programmes of work throughout the areas of health and education, as well as at the methodological level. Currently six students are enrolled for postgraduate study in the Laboratory in a programme of work concerning the development of new scales measuring participation and quality of life for different disease groups.
