This chapter relate to my experiences as part of the Occupational, Health and Safety (OHS) team at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden 2014-2016. My work involved development and analysis of psychosocial environmental surveys, the implementation and follow-up of wellbeing programs and participating in safety inspections . The work also involved confidential meetings with academics experiencing stress. To support me in this role required participation in numerous interesting and mandatory workshops. I learnt about the role of Swedish Trade Unions, Swedish laws on health and safety and wellbeing, stress, alcohol and drug abuse, policies relating to gender equity, discrimination, bullying, violence and threat of violence in the workplace. I also participated in several leadership courses and a yearlong course on conflict resolution that was to prove especially effective when mediating in staff conflict. I am using a narrative inquiry approach (Connelly & Clandinin, 2006) reflecting on my experiences. Engaging in narrative inquiry “requires attentiveness to the stories of other professionals as well as to the larger social, institutional and professional narratives in which individuals are embedded” (Clandinin, Cave & Berendonk, 2017, p. 94).
