Berlin based scholar Annette Gilbert (FU Berlin) talks to Rosalie Schweiker and Eva Weinmayr (AND Publishing, London) about AND's independent, subversive, collaborative, intersectional feminist art and publishing practice. Publishing here constitutes a strategy to initiate a social process. Instead the motto “Do It Yourself”, AND prefers: “Do It with Others”. Here publications are not necessarily understood as the end product trying to convince someone of something, but rather a method of working towards establishing conditions and infrastructures for the co-production of meaning. The interview discusses the relation to feminist pedagogies (“Teaching for People who prefer not to teach” with Mirjam Bayerdörfer, 2017 and “Let’s Mobilize: What is Feminist Pedaggy?” Valand Academy working group, 2016) and describes strategies of multiple and shared authorship in order to renegotiate the concept of intellectual property. "The Piracy Project", for example, a collaboration with Andrea Francke, explores the philosophical, legal and practical implications of book piracy and the implications policy development has had on our understanding of intellectual property.
