EURAXESS

EURAXESS - Researchers in Motion is a pan-European initiative delivering information and support services to professional researchers. Backed by the European Union and its Member States, it supports researcher mobility and career development, while enhancing scientific collaboration between Europe and the world.

EURAXESS web portal

The portal is a platform for researchers, entrepreneurs, universities and businesses to interact with each other on a global scale. The EURAXESS portal proposes registered users with matching collaboration, job and hosting opportunities and introduces a funding database, where research funding agencies are invited to enter national research funding opportunities. 500 EURAXESS Centres in 40 countries

Welcome Services at the University of Gothenburg is a EURAXESS Service Centre. The main task is to assist both the researcher and the departments and units at the university by providing information and practical assistance for mobile researchers.

EURAXESS Network Project

Welcome Services is coordinating the EURAXESS Network project 2018-2022. The project is funded by Vinnova.

The purpose of the EURAXESS Network Project is to make relevant and present issues within the European EURAXESS network visible in Sweden, and to broaden, expand and develop the Swedish network. The activities in the project are expected to increase the visibility of Sweden as a research nation and improve the support for researcher mobility. Welcome Services will work to increase the interest in EURAXESS at a national level and will coordinate the Swedish network.

Welcome Services will be in charge of the Swedish EURAXESS portal; a central source of information about Sweden as a research nation. Active universities and other actors will be presented on the portal as well as available services, research positions and funding opportunities.

The BHO function in Sweden is shared with Vinnova, and Welcome Services will attend meetings, conferences and study visits at the European level, in order to cover the interest in current issues.

Welcome Services previously coordinated the EURAXESS activity project, also backed up by Vinnova, for the period 2015–2017.
