The paper introduces and summarizes a methodological approach developed to investigate supervision of academic writing at Master’s degree level. The purpose of the paper is to initiate a discussion around qualitative research in the area of academic writing as a knowledge-making process by offering an example of a sociocultural and dialogical methodology.
