Abstract

A new species of Amaioua, A. macrosepala, is described and illustrated. It is found at 1700–2080 m elevation in the Cor- dillera Central of the Colombian Andes. This new species is easily distinguished from all other species of Amaioua by its persistent, foliose calyx lobes.
