This book-chapter reflects upon the research design of a performance laboratory and temporary physical engagement with the former Cold War radar station called Teufelsberg in Berlin. By using the notions of site specificity, performer training and embodiment, the author gives examples of how the body and space can inscribe themselves into each other by generating a performative and gestural language that expands the understanding of a place.
