Abstract

Leslie Johnson and Josefina Posch presentation of their practices and their first collaborative project "The Metamorphosis of Power" – a situation specific artwork in Gori and Tbilisi part of the 3rd Tbilisi Triennial in Georgia (2018). The artists revived the old Electric Trolley Bus Transformer Station in Gori as a sculpture referencing historical paths of trade and new technologies to initiate processes of transformation and change for the community. The building became a sculptural spectacle of shadow and light expressing the transformation of the ancient silk route to the solar route and utilizing wind and solar power to illuminate the sculpture. Event supported by IASPIS – The Swedish Arts Grants Committee´s International Program for Visual and Applied Arts and Langmanska Cultural Foundation.
