About the unit

The Segerstedt institute is a national resource centre that aims to contribute to the development of knowledge on how to prevent violent ideologies, violent structures, and racist organizations. Accordingly, the Institute will work together with public institutions and non-governmental organizations.

The Segerstedt Institute was established at the University of Gothenburg on the 1st of July 2015. The Institute’s origins are found in the long-standing cooperation between the University of Gothenburg and the municipality of Kungälv in preventing racist and violent milieus and organizations from coming into existence.
