Petra Frank

About Petra Frank

Since March 2017, Petra Frank is the head of the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg. Petra studied choreography at Danshögskolan in Stockholm in the 90s and has worked as a freelance choreographer.

In 1997, Petra initiated the dance programme at Södra Latin's upper secondary school in Stockholm. In 2007, she was appointed Senior Lecturer in dance pedagogy and Head of Department at the Dance and Circus University (DOCH) in Stockholm. In 2013, she received an assignement as pro-vice-chancellor at the same university. When the new Stockholm University of the Arts (UNIARTS) was formed in 2014, Petra took on the role as Dean of DOCH, with responsibility for the three institutions Circus, Dance and Dance Education.

For more than twenty years Petra has worked within artistic and pedagogical education and has had a number of management, board and development assignments. She has been instrumental in developing organizations and the quality of education programmes, building artistic research environments, increasing collaboration with both Swedish and international actors and creating new contact networks.
