About Andrej Kokkonen

Presentation Andrej Kokkonen is a researcher at the Department of Political Science, University of Gothenburg.

Areas of interest • Family policy and family formation • Ethnic diversity, social trust and tolerance • Gender differences in support for anti-immigrant parties • Succession arrangements effect on leader survival, civil wars ,and state building in autocracies

Current research Currently, Kokkonen works in three projetcs In the first, which is funded by the Swedish National Research Council, he, Peter Esaiasson, and Mikael Gilljam study how ethnic diversity in work places and school classes affect social trust and tolerance.

In the second project, which is financed by FAS, he, Stefan Dahlberg, Wouter van der Brug, and Eelco Harteveld study why women do not vote for anti-immigrant parties to the same extent as men.

In the third project, which is funded by the Swedish National Research Council, he and Anders Sundell study how succession arrangements affect leader survival, civil wars, and state building in autocracies.

Teaching and tutoring Kokkonen currently teaches courses in research design. He also tutors masters essays.
