About Benjamin Lyngfelt

Professor of Swedish

Trained as a syntactician, but with a broader interest in grammar and grammatical theory in general, I tend to concern myself with the interplay between what is often treated as separate parts of the language, such as grammar and lexicon, or syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. In recent years, I have mostly pursued such issues from the view-point of Construction Grammar. I am currently leading the effort to develop a Swedish constructiCon (roughly, an online dictionary of grammatical constructions) and connect it to corresponding constructiCon resources for other languages.
